Problems
1. A huge number of people, especially the young age group, have a need for a well-customized suit but do not have enough budget, because most suit brands that offer customization services are luxury brands.
2. Moreover, most services are only available in the store. Whereas the younger generation prefers to shop online.
3. Many cheaper brands do not offer customized services.
4. Many younger customers prefer a more convenient, easy-to-use and low-cost way of service.
5. There is no such app in use in Canada for now.
Project Goals
1. Create a way to measure body sizes easily and simply
2. Create a budget-friendly yet luxury looking design style that is easy to navigate without worrying about the cost
3. All interactions and transactions will be completed on the app. There’s no need for picking it up in-store
4. Incorporate sizings from popular brands
Therefore, an app designed for customizing a suit in a convenient, user-friendly and low-cost way, has the potentials to attract the younger users who need to have their apparel customized.
Brand Image and Ideas
Based on the target group, the brand should look not only price friendly but also should give users a luxurious feel. Furthermore, I created a clean design style because the app itself will be image-rich and text-heavy.
Information Architecture
For better user experience, to simplify the overall user flow, I have reduced steps from choosing a product to checking out. The most important elements of this app are simple and straight forward.

An Advanced Filter to Help Select The Best Fit
Users can browse articles when they do not know what to look for, the content varies from suggested styles based on seasons, most popular styles, etc.. To satisfy various needs from clients, a detailed filter system is necessary. Users can search for products by categories, brands, features, colours and many more.
Flexible Ways to Measure
The main goal of the app is to measure users’ body size easily and quickly. I designed two ways of measurement so that users can choose to use either freely depends on different situations.
Since AR tech is mature and popular now and already used in some apps for the purpose of measurement, adding visual measurement is necessary to achieve the goal.
To ensure that if some users do not feel comfortable or other reasons to use visual measurement, typical measurement is set up as the other option for users.
Preview Will Reflect Your Real Body Shape
Users will be categorized into different body types based on collected data. Each product has photos of models with different sizes. Product photos will be adjusted based on your body size. The purpose is for making previews as realistic as possible.
There are more details shown on the product page such as the fit size of the product and fabric details. All are to make sure that users are able to pick the product suitable the most.
Designed To Make The Customizing Process Easier
For most existing clothing websites or apps, the customizing process is not previewable. This is difficult for users to imagine how the product looks after making changes.
The main goal of the section is to make sure that the user can see every single change they make. And visualize all customizable parts of each product.
Checkout Is All About Convenience
Once customization is completed, users will be able to proceed to checkout. On the checkout page, products are still editable.
The check out process will be shipping, payment and confirmation. The main goal in this section is to make all info to be savable on the app if the user wants. The purpose to make sure the information does not need to be filled twice and save as different options if necessary.
